Do you ever get confused about when to use these words? Don't worry, a lot of people do. Here's a way to remember them.
1.) Farther is used when we are talking about the physical distance or length.
example: How much farther is the campsite?
I have farther to travel. She lives farther away.
It also has the word "far" in it.
2.) Further is used when we are talking about figurative distance. It means "additonally" or "to a greater degree". It refers to time or amount.
example: His theory requires further study.
I want to discuss the matter further.
